What we collect
- Guest list: your first name, email address, preferred city and usual stay length, plus a record of your consent.
- Bookings: your name, contact details, stay dates and identity verification. Bookings and payments are processed by our booking partner Hospitable and payment provider Stripe; we do not store card details.
- In-stay guide: if you unlock guest perks in the guide in your home, your first name, email address and mobile number, linked to your current booking, plus a record of your consent if you opt in to offers.
- Website use: basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and pages visited, used to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To manage your booking and stay (contract).
- To verify guests and protect homes from misuse (legitimate interests).
- To contact you about your current and future stays with us, using the details you give in the in-stay guide (legitimate interests).
- To send guest list offers and new homes, if you opt in. Guests who have stayed with us may also get offers on similar stays unless they opt out when giving their details (soft opt-in). You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep financial records (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
Moa & Kin, which manages the homes; Hospitable (bookings); Stripe (payments); our identity verification provider; Cloudflare (website hosting); and our email provider. Each acts on our instructions. Some providers are based outside the UK, in which case appropriate safeguards are in place. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
Guest list details until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days. Booking and financial records for six years. Identity verification details are deleted within 30 days of check-out unless needed for a claim.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed for the site and checkout to work. The booking widget, provided by Hospitable, may set its own cookies when you check availability or book.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to its use, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing stay@shortishlets.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
